What I Made: DIY Business Cards

On Saturday I will have a table at my very first craft show.. (more on that tomorrow)

On Monday night I realized that I didn't have business cards to share that had everything for my shop and blog on them. So I designed the card, copy and pasted it nine more times on the 8.5"x 11" document, and then printed away on five sheets of heavy paper. They don't feel like my other business cards that I had professionally done, but they'll work for one day.

And here's how they look..

I actually really like how they turned out. They were so simple to design and all I had to do was cut each one out along the grey lines and I was all set!

Obsessed.

I haven't been more into a book series since Twilight. Not that I'm out searching for books left and right, but when one comes along that everyone is talking about, then it's clearly time to start reading it. Now, one thing you must know about me is that I do not in any way like surprises. Christmas is a terrible time for me because I beg to know what I'm getting. When it comes to books I'm the same way.. I read the very last page so I know what to expect. Now I did read the first book completely through, but I peaked at the last chapter so I knew what the outcome would be. With the second and third book though, I began skimming the pages. I read what I wanted, the conversational parts, and everything else, the details, I went over without reading. I know, I know.. this is terrible! But now that I know what completely happens, I plan to re-read the entire series without skimming. 

The first book is my favorite, maybe because I read the entire thing?

I would love to talk about what happens, but I'm really not sure how many of you have read it and I don't really want to give away the ending to those of you who haven't read it but plan to.

The movie comes out in March for The Hunger Games and I'm not sure how I'll be able to hold out that long. I heard the second one isn't coming out until 2013.. Ugh! Talk about making you wait a while! I wish there were more books.

The Hunger Games

Last Friday night around 8PM I got into bed and decided I was finally going to start reading The Hunger Games. I've had these books sitting around for months and I finally decided it was time.. I only got into the forth chapter, but it's really good so far. I watched the movie trailer for it this past week, so it made me even more excited to read it. I think, for me, that once seeing a trailer for a book turned movie that it's easier to picture the characters because I actually know what they're going to look like when I watch the movie later on. 

So that night I got cozy into bed with some hot chocolate with whipped cream & marshmallows and began reading.. with some wild hair like this..

Oh Google!

I googled myself tonight.

And while that sounds completely weird a lot of different things came up.

Who knew there could be so many different things on there.. thankfully there were not many images that came up of me with this search. I did find one thing funny though, when I Googled myself, some of the bloggers that I follow, their images were popping up.

Anyways, here's a couple things I found..

Today Mom and I went to Five Guys for lunch. There's one in Rossford that recently opened so we thought we would try something different.. the place was packed by the way! Anyways, I ordered my food, handed over my money and the cashier says,"I really like your hair".

"Oh, well thank you!"

I was caught off guard, I don't hear that very often.. let alone on days when I used dry shampoo the night before.

Card Designs: Jen Dixon

I wanted to share with you the first set of Christmas card designs that I've done. There's about two slots left that I'm looking to accept for the freebie edits.. after that I will be designing images for a small fee, but we'll get into that later.

Jen submitted her images on Tuesday night and they were done Wednesday evening.

I'm looking to make up some Christmas card designs, but I need some family portraits to use for the designs. I am looking for images that would have been professionally taken outdoors or with a really cool background. 

I'm am only accepting couple, family and children portraits for this.

If you like the design that I create with your image, which will be a 4 x 6 design, please feel free to take the design and get it printed at your local photo store to hand out in your Christmas cards as a little exchange for you allowing me to use your images.

Please note: By you sending the images, you are giving me the right to alter them for the design.

1:11

Sadly, none of this is happening.

It's 1:11 in the morning and I'm unable to sleep, which is really uncommon.

Things have been happening this weekend that I'm unable to talk about, but I'm also unable to get them out of my head when I'm trying to get some rest. That's one of the downfalls of complete darkness and silence.. your thoughts are able to actually take control.

One in the morning is something that I'm not used to.. I might be 22, but 11PM is a great time to get some sleep.
