The Graduate

I don't know if you know this or not.. but on Saturday I graduated from The Art Institute of Michigan with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communications.. WITH HONORS! I am so glad that school is completely over.. now it's just time to find that big girl job!

Here's the deal..

I was at Michael's a couple weeks ago and I had been searching through the dollar section to see if they had anything interested. Well everything in that section was 40% off and I had found some cute travel bottles to carry shampoo, conditioner, and lotion that were packaged together without a price. 

When I got up to check out I was told by the cashier that she couldn't sell them to me because they were supposed to be packaged in another item.

Okay, well go find the package it's supposed to go in because I want these.

Nope, she sat them down behind the counter and I walked out without them.

Seriously, she couldn't have just sold them to me without the other item they were supposed to go in? I would have still paid the full 60 cents.

So I went back the following weekend and what do you know! The bottles were thrown right back into the dollar section without the item they are supposed to go in. So instead of giving the cashier attitude this time I found the bag above for them to go in.

Ha!

Someone on Craigslist was giving these away free about a month ago. I have a idea for a kitchen table that I want made and I thought these would be the perfect legs, maybe? I know they are for a rail for a porch, so they will need cut down because they are overly tall. I also thought about using it for a sofa table, the legs of course.

I wanted to share with you our new earrings that we're adding to the shop! You might recognize these as the Ellery Earrings, but these are even smaller.. hence the mini in the name :)

I'm busy trying to create new colors for the mini's, but these are the ones that are available now..

Design Work: Amarilo Designs

A couple weeks ago I had a giveaway for a blog header and the winner was Ali at Amarilo Designs. Throughout the process I created three different designs for her, two were from images that she provided to me and I altered them, and one was a basic design that I created in Illustrator.
