Design Work: Snail Mail (Book)

For one of my assignments for class we have to work on a piece that can be one of the following:
Magazine, Children's Book, etc.
Something of that nature!

So of course I went with the Children's Book. Since this is my last quarter (AMEN!) and I have a Portfolio Show at the end of it, I thought it would be a good idea that if this idea actually turned out nice enough, I would get it printed into an actual book to have on display for my table.

Here's my cover:
-which is not yet completely finished with colors.

But since it's a Children's Book, I have to come up with a kid-friendly name for the snail.
I did my research and actually found a 'real snail name' that I liked, Lola.
But then there's always Ellie, Emmy, Ella, etc. I've gotten some suggestions from my FB friends, but I'm still undecided.
This is when I turn to my blog friends!

I want to hear your suggestions on snailerella's name!

The picture is to provide to give you some insight on what she looks like.
Yes, she. The name must be a girls name! Please!

Leave your suggestions below and maybe you'll see it in this little book of mine!

MAJOR Target Sale

If you are a lover of home-made ice cream and you don't have your own machine to make any (like I was), then you have to run out and get one of these.

Both of these are from Target..

Here's the deal..
I, for some reason, have been wanting an ice cream maker for a long time. Being on a college budget was not going to help me with purchasing a $29.99 machine.. no can do!

Well two weeks ago I spotted these machines above at Target, but they were full price, $29.99 each (ahhhhh!). I went back the following weekend and they were 30% off, but I still wouldn't budge. TWO DAYS after I was there when they were 30% off, I went back again to look and they were 75% OFF!
WHAT?!
You mean to tell me they skipped the 50% off? OKAY!
They were $2.99 a piece.. Seriously, when I scanned them at the price check area I thought I was scamming them. Um, has 'Punked' started a new series?!
..And I bought four of them.
Three in the one quart (pictured below) and one in the four quart (pictured above).
I will be keeping one of each, my aunt is purchasing one of them from me for $5 (woo-hoo, profit!) and then I'll be using the other for a Christmas gift to my brother and sister-in-law.

Hi, my name is Sara and I'm a ice cream maker-aholic.

Make sure to check out your Target summer section if you're in need of one or are looking to replace one. Good luck, they go fast!
Meaning I probably stashed them in my cart before you got there!

Umm.. P.S.
They also come in Red.

Feather Hair Extensions

Oh feather hair extensions.. you are so lovely!
I wish I hadn't cut my hair so short or I would definitely be picking up the very last one that's on this page.
I'm almost thinking of attempting to make one just like that in a shorter version for myself.
Although, I really love the bright colored ones as well.
All of these are from Etsy.. so if you're in love with this trend as much as I am, pick some up to wear!

And my absolute favorite..
I love the fact that you can take it out at the end of the day.

Giveaway: Leatherwraps

I cannot express how excited I am for this giveaway!

As you know, wrap bracelets are all the rage right now!
I found this adorable shop on Etsy and while searching their site I found a couple of favorite pieces.

I absolutely adore this white wrap bracelet..

After testing out these bracelets I have grown to love them and I actually think that I'm going to be asking for some of these for gifts or even purchasing some for gifts for others. I loved the way that these bracelets felt on my wrist, they weren't heavy at all, which is always a plus! I also loved the way that these can be dressed up or worn casual. You can even wear one of them at a time or wear them all together and they look great either way.

I also like that there's the option, when purchasing, to snag it in gold or in silver.

Stormy, the owner of Leatherwraps, is giving one of you the opportunity to win a set of these bracelets with the black leather and the gold tubes.

Pretty Little..

Pretty Little Liars

Is anyone out there as much in love with this show as I am?
It's a book series that was turned into a TV show.
While I'm constantly wrong as to who 'A' is, it's a great guessing show. Although, it makes me wonder how much longer it can go on. It's into season two, but the clues as to who 'A' is seems to be leading to Jenna. I'm probably wrong once again, but I think that's why I love it so much. But what happens when 'A' is finally found?

It's also introduced me to some great new songs, like this one, which was on last weeks episode.

You can watch previous episodes here.. or tune into ABC Family tonight for a new episode!

Design Work: Save The Date

A project that I'm working on for class involves us taking a business and, like always, working on a logo for the company and then creating different designs to work for the company. As a part of picking a company, I went with a wedding planning company called Save The Date. While I'm not working directly with the Save The Date company, it's great to imagine that the work is actually going to be produced for them, even though it's really not.

And while I'm in the early stages of the designs, here's a couple of logo designs that I've come up with. My favorite at this point is #7. After creating the numbers to show you the designs, I kind of fell in love with the purple color as well for the 'DATE' in the #7 design.

I'd love to hear what your favorite is so I can begin revision on them.
Any tips? Like the colors or not a fan?
Let me know!

Jeggings

What do you think of Jeggings?
(jean leggings)

When these first came out I thought they were ridiculous. I thought that it was just another way for someone to make some serious money.. seriously, Jeggings?! Well, turns out I tried some of them on the other day. I always turn on my thoughts! So I tried some on.. and LOVED them! They are definitely tight, but I guess that's how they should be since they're like leggings and they're incredibly comfortable. I was never able to find Skinny Jeans in a plus size, so I actually bought two pairs of these Jeggings to make up for that fact. I bought a dark blue and black pair, and even though they're two different sizes, they practically fit the same way. And since I now have an internship to attend to, the black pair will be perfect to wear into the office for a couple of hours. I also found them perfect to wear flats, but also if I ever wanted to wear heels with them to dress an outfit up.

The great thing about my Jeggings is that I found them on sale for around $10 each. Can't beat that, considering that's less then I'd pay for ONE pair of jeans!

Here's some reasonably priced Jeggings that you can purchase online..

So what do you think of this fad?
Have you tried Jeggings?

Design Work: Forever 21 Logo

You might remember a couple months back when I was working on the Forever 21 logo as a part of my school project. Well, a lot of things have changed since then!

Here's what I had come up with after the old logo design.

Time-Waster: Generatus

I hope you're enjoying your Friday afternoon!
I'm finally back in the swing of things with school and needed something to take my mind off of everything.. so how about a ridiculous website? Okayyyyy!

Hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend!

A couple things that Generatus brought up for me..

Dress Options

I have a wedding to attend in August and while I was out shopping today I stopped to check out a couple of dresses. Even though I'm probably going to be sporting one of the skirts that I just bought, I thought it would be nice to at least take a look to see what was out there.

You might remember this dress that I wore last year to a friends wedding, but since those same people will be at this wedding in August, I figured I better go with something a little different.

All of these dresses are from the JCPenny website.

These dresses below were the ones that I tried on and LOVED!

What do you think, would you wear a dress or a skirt? Do you have a favorite?

Deal of the Week!

With last weeks purchases at Rite Aid I scored $9 in +UP Rewards. I wanted to use them before I got back into classes, so on Saturday I had went over to use them. My initial plan was to purchase the crackle nail polish, but I went against it after testing it out.

I went on to find these.. my bargain babies..

These kits were priced at $3.99 on a display, so I thought I would just pick up one because the price for them individually is $1.99.. and I loved the colors! After getting up to the register I found out that they were on sale for $1.99.. and there was a expired coupon for $1 off, so I asked if I could still use the coupon and the guy said yes, so since they were going to come out to be a buck I went back and picked up three more.

Here's the other kits with the different colors.

I also picked up these nail polishes..

So here's what happened:
Each individual color polish was $1.99
The clear polish was $2.30
and Each Wet n Wild set was .99
With my $9 in +UP Rewards cash I only paid $1.84 for all of this..

Cha-ching!

I'm still actually thinking of going back and picking up the remaining three sets..

Recent Purchases..

On Thursday my mom and I planned to clean the house, but I woke up not being in the mood to do so, and I complained of being bored and said that I would rather do something fun that day. So instead we went shopping. I picked up more things than the ones that are listed above, but they are more home decor items instead of fashion, so they'll end up getting packed away until I move.

I'm heading back to classes on Monday (ohhh rats!), but the best thing is knowing that it's my last quarter and then I'll be graduating. Hooray!

Favorite Items

1. Bath & Body Works Coconut Passionfruit
I was just into Bath & Body Works about a week ago and these were on sale, but I actually picked this scent up about a week or two before with the spend $10 and get an item free, this was my freebie. I also have another coupon like that, so I'll be back for more! I love this scent though.. I've always loved the coconut scents that they've had in the past, but this scent really kicks it up with the additional passionfruit scent.

2. Crest 3D White Toothpaste
LOVE THIS! First of all, here's my great deal on it: Rite Aid has them on sale this week for $2.59 or something like that, TRANSACTION ONE; with your Rewards card you can purchase one (4.0) with Sunday's Newspaper Coupon with .75 off, then you get a $2 Rewards Rebate on the receipt, TRANSACTION TWO; use that coupon for a second tube of toothpaste and it's only .75 or something like that.
I wasn't sure if I'd like it though because I use another brand, but I fell in love with this. It's been four days since I've purchased four of these tubes and I had already noticed a difference the next day. It's absolutely one of my favorite new products!

3. CoverGirl NatureLuxe Gloss Balm
I purchased this product in Grenache (235) and I just love the color of it. It carries a little bit of a pink tone to it, but it's very natural and perfect for just throwing on and running out of the house.
The one complaint that I have about this product is that like most lip balms, after a while there's that dry rough texture to it.

4. Bath & Body Works Lemon: Summer Vanillas
Between coconut and lemon these are my two favorite scents. I recently bought these when they were 75% off and were only about $2.50 or less. It's a great summer scent and you'll be lucky if you can ever find this in your local shop, it definitely goes fast!
