Mackinac City > Traverse City > Grand Haven

Last Tuesday my parents and I took a trip up to Mackinac City (Mackinaw City), Traverse City, and Grand Haven.

On the trip we stopped at a little General Store and I found this rock candy stick.
Yum! I haven't had one of these in forever!

We stopped and viewed the Mackinac Bridge

We stopped at a winery when my mom and I did some wine tasting.

We couldn't believe how modern the building was..

Then since I've never been to a casino before, they took me for my first time.
We each took $20 to get us started and while both of my parents were losing their money, I cashed out with $45 (the $20 I started with and $25 in winnings), all from the .25, .50, and $1 machines. I couldn't believe that for my first time being at a casino that I was actually winning instead of losing all of my money! There's a casino that's being built about 20 minutes from home and I can't wait until I can finally go again!

Lastly, we stopped in Grand Haven which is on the west side of the state.
I'm sure it would have been even more beautiful if there hadn't been rain!

While we were in Mackinac by the bridge, we seen this extra big house!
Beautiful, isn't it?

Needless to say, we traveled up the east coast of the state to the top and then came down the west coast.

Locks of Love Hair Donation

Last week I shared that I had donated my hair to Locks of Love.
I'm more than happy that my hair is going to a good cause, but I'm still unsure of the cut. After having long hair for a while I've grown used to having it there as a little shelter and now it's just not there anymore. I will admit though that with the summer weather it will feel great not to have the long hair anymore, even though the past couple of days have only been in the 70's.

There was a little issue with getting my hair cut though. I was supposed to go in at 2:15 so I went to lunch with family before and when I got home there was a message saying that I was supposed to be there at 12:15. The woman who works the desk wrote down the wrong time for my appointment and the woman who cuts my hair was booked until the following week. The same day I found out that I didn't get an internship that I was hoping for, so I broke down for a good half hour that day. Anyways, I really wanted my hair done before I went on vacation the next day, so I went with another stylist that was there.

Here are a couple of pictures from last Monday's little adventure..

Last Tuesday before we left for vacation I sent my hair off in the mail..

Vacation was not as warm as we expected, in which the temperature in Northern Michigan was 58 degrees!
But here's a little look a how my hair looks now.. cut and highlighted.

GIVEAWAY: amarilo designs - CLOSED!

GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED!

Love Gold jewelry?
Well you'll love amarilo designs!

They carry a variety of jewelry.. necklaces, bracelets, and even rings!

Here are a few of my favorite things..

Ali, who runs amarilo designs, has decided to giveaway this stunning necklace that is perfect for summer.

She sent this necklace to me to review and I absolutely fell in love with it.

To wear jewelry in the summer you definitely want things to be light and not too heavy, and that's exactly what this necklace is great for. The entire necklace is light weight and works perfectly for any summer occasion.

Another great thing about this necklace is the teal needle that hangs off the end. I also really love that it's large enough to just slip over your head, there's no fuss about trying to work with a hook.

The thing I love most about this necklace is the little details that are within the chain. There are a couple of light blue beads that are incorporated into the chain, but there's also some small gold beads that tie right in with the gold chain.

Honestly, everything about this necklace is perfect!

Ali is giving one of you the chance to win this cute little necklace!

Here's how you can enter:

1

You MUST be a follower of the Sweet November blog to be considered.

It's Almost Time..

The time where I cut close to 13 inches off my hair.

I've made my hair appointment for Monday, in which I will be cutting off those 13 inches of hair and donating them to Locks of Love, and then I'll be highlighting mine with blonde.

I'm nervous, anxious, excited, everything you can even think of!

This is the longest I've ever had my hair.. you might remember this post when I talked about my hair and how it has been before. Well, it's most likely going to be like the top two pictures in that post.

It will be great to not have to sweat more just because my hair is making my neck so hot!

So long hair!

Wish me luck!

Decorating with Orange

Do you really love a certain color but can't see yourself painting a wall with that color?
Take Orange.. it's bright and warm, but painting a room with this color might seem a little too overwhelming.

Here are a few ways to decorate a room with your favorite color, without going too overboard.

P.S.
Today is my last day for classes this quarter.. which means that I'll be doing more posts!
Sorry that there was a break, we lost some followers, but I'm thankful for the ones who have stuck it out!
Thank you!

Guest Post: Perpetual Blind Date

Hey there friends!

We are Sarah and Alyssa from Perpetual Blind Date where we blog about the wonderful and fabulous single life.
To say we are honored to be guest blogging here today is a big ole understatement!

A few weeks back we traveled to Dallas for a two wedding in one day weekend. You can read more about that here. While in Dallas we stopped off at Homegoods – let’s take a moment of silence for the awesomeness that is Homegoods.

M-K, moving on.
When we were shopping around we started noticing a trend.
A very yummy delightful trend.
Navy!

Our hearts went pitter-patter at the thought of spicing something, anything, up with navy.
Well fast forward to last weekend when I (sarah) found an amazing mirror in someone’s trash.

Yep you read that right – I pulled a mirror straight from the trash.
After contemplating mirror colors I was reminded of this new found trend – navy. I was sold. This mirror was going to be one fancy little thing after I was done with it.

A can of spray paint later, my mirror is a whole new …. well... uh …. Mirror!

What do you think? Do you love it as much as I do??
Anyone know of any more great trends we need to be watching for???
