Braided Bracelet
What's better than a braided bracelet?
Maybe one that's Grey and Yellow?!
Materials:
Three fabric scraps, I used t-shirt scraps
Beaded Sting, mine had little pearls on it
Needle & Thread
Optional:
Clamp to hold fabric while layering
Bracelet clasp
1
Take fabric scraps and your beaded string and layer them all on top of each other.
Take needle and thread and secure them all together by stitching everything.
2
Braid everything together.
I kept the beaded sting with one of the fabric pieces and then braided it all together.
3
Stitch both ends of your braid together to make the bracelet.
This is where you could add the bracelet clasp if you don't want to slide it over your wrist.
Super fast and it's done in five minutes!

I'd like to do this for my granddaughters but would like to have them elasticized so the little ones aren't frustrated with clasps. What would I need to do to make that happen?
ReplyDeleteHi Mildred!
ReplyDeleteWhen I made my bracelets I went ahead and scrapped on using the clasps. I took the t-shirt and had sewn the ends so nothing came apart and then I went ahead and hand-stitched the ends together. I wouldn't use elastic because the t-shirt material already stretches enough and using elastic might make the bracelet fall off.
Let me know if you have any more questions! :)
About how wide and long are tour strips?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about how long I made them. I just cut out some strips of the t-shirt and then when I was braiding them I measured it against my wrist to make sure it would work.. then I cut the strips and had sewn them together by hand.
ReplyDeleteLet me know if you have any more questions! :)
Thanks, Sara Marie - I'm trying this today. :) I'll let you know how they turn out! :)
ReplyDeleteYes! Definitely let me know how it goes! I'd love to see pictures as well!! :)
ReplyDeleteWell it turned out fairly well. Where I stitched the ends together was a but messy so I covered it up with an over-size plastic button. LOL! I'd love to show a picture, just not sure how... can I add one in the comments?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the button looks great! That's actually a really good idea!
ReplyDeleteYou can email me pictures, I'd love to share the pictures on the blog that you tried the project.
