Walk on the beach

Yesterday morning I took Buckeye out to Maumee Bay State Park for a walk on the beach.
I don't know if you can call it a beach though. Lake Erie is dirty.. like disgusting. There were two dead fish hanging out on shore. Sick.
Buckeye and I stayed away from that and continued our walk.

When we got into the car he was so hot and panting like crazy. I think he had a great time.

Shop logo

I probably told everyone before but since I had to create a website for class I took my logo and made it appropriate for the shop.. here it is:

If you can't tell.. I've changed the color to yellow instead of the green. I'm going to be changing the blog design soon to make it work with the shop. That's why I love this logo because throughout the seasons or whenever I have a mood change, I can change the color.. :)

Grey's Anatomy

Last nights episode was epic.
I couldn't believe everything that happened! It was unlike any episode I've ever seen them do.
I suggest you watch it if you haven't already. Although, I do think you have to watch the episodes leading up to this to realize why the person is doing this.

Novel

This is kind of hard to say.. I'm almost embarrassed about it.

Tonight I decided I wanted to write a novel.

I have been thinking about this for a long time now. I remember writing a huge love story in middle school, it was over a hundred pages, handwritten. I absolutely loved writing it. I remember passing it around for friends to read throughout the day.

I've had quite a few experiences that I'd love to incorporate within the novel.
I'm quite serious about this. I don't know how it'll turn out, but I came up with a character list and an outline on how things would unfold within the novel. I'm actually quite proud with what I came up with.. although, please don't give me all the credit because the sangria might have helped things flow out a bit more.

I can't wait to get started on this. I'm hoping that tomorrow I'll have time to sit down to start doing some research on things that I need, such as locations and jobs.

Here's to the attempt at a novel.

Convinced..

{vanity fair}

Tonight I'm watching New Moon.. and it makes me really want to read the books over again.
They have sat on my shelf for a couple months not being touched, which is quite surprising because when I first got them I read them probably four times in a row and wouldn't put them down. But now, months later, there they sit.. I really want to reach over and pick Twilight up.
Okay, I will. This post has convinced me.. that's sad.

How many of you have read the books or have seen the movies?
If you have, let me know which book or movie is your favorite so far! And if you've read the book and have seen the movies, tell me which you like better.

Can't wait for Eclipse!

Cheap Finds

These three frames above are from the Dollar Store..
I really don't like anything gold, so everything got spray painted.

This frame below I bought at a garage sale for .25.. pure beauty!

I have seen large keys in decor pictures for a long time now and I've always wanted one.. the problem was my cheap budget and them being overly expensive.
This one here was .50.. I'm so in love with it.
I spray painted it today and it looks ten times better.
I absolutely love the detail in it.

Any guesses on which color I spray painted all of these pieces today?

Dad Time

On my way home from work yesterday I stopped at a garage sale and picked up two matching side tables for $1 each. I really wish someone was there, other than the woman working the sale, to watch me pack these two tables into my small car.
I called my mom on the way home and told her that she was probably going to kill me for buying those.. she proceeded to tell me it wasn't going to be her that killed me, it'd be my dad. (If you knew how much stuff I already had you'd understand). So they whole time between when I got home and when my dad gets home I was worrying about how mad he'd be. I unpacked the tables and sat them in the garage and when he got home I showed them to him. He wasn't mad at all actually. They need a bit of fixing up, but I'm prepared to do the work.. and dad offered to help, thank god.
The thing is my dad and I don't anyways get along. It's definitely harder for him and I to connect with each other than it is for my mom and I.
Although, there is one thing that him and I do that actually helps us to bond.. and oddly enough that's going to antique shops and going to garage sales. Today a town near us was having a community garage sale. My dad and I met over there after work and went through to all the sales. Half way through the trip when he wouldn't tell me which ones he wanted to stop at he proceeds to tell me that he came along because he knew this was something I wanted to do.
So this is what my dad and I do to bond. If it's the only thing that helps, then I'll keep doing it.

Other than that I found some great deals today and I'll post on them maybe tomorrow.
Have a great weekend!

Before & After

I am in love with before and after pictures. The thing is I usually post before and after pictures for projects that I've done, not this time. This time I'm posting pictures of people who have made unbelievable transformations.

Here I've saved the best for last. I think that her before is a little too much. Her kids stated that they were embarrassed to be with her in public because she looks like a porn star. I would be embarrassed too.
The after picture is to die for. I can't believe how different she looks. Hopefully she doesn't go back to how she was before.

Aren't these transformations amazing?

Ikea Love

I love this blanket. I bought it when I bought my duvet cover. I love the ruffly texture and look.. and it's only $19.99.

One day when I get my own place and actually have a good paying job, I will buy one of these. I think it would be helpful to store all of my projects and help me be organized with them. Right now I would not be able to store this anywhere, but for $119 you really can't be a storage system like this.

The pillow, stomach sleeper is one of my favorite pillows.. it's my favorite for the price.. 99 cents!
I'm going to be stopping by there sometime soon to pick up four of these. They are pretty thin so I'm planning on using two to fill a pillow case that I'm planning to make.. pictures will come after it's completed! :)

I know I've already posted about this bed in a previous post, but I can't help but love it. I love the decorative feature in the headboard and not to mention the price.. $99 for a Queen, honestly how can you beat that?

A $7.99 side table.. I'm sold! I love the colors that it comes in.. I just hope they are still the same price if not cheaper when I move out again and have furniture. I could picture these sitting next to any chair or couch.

Makeup Storage

If you are anything like me, you might have a lot of makeup sitting around.

Mine sits in a nice storage container like this..

Everything was great, except that I have so much makeup that it wasn't a pretty site to look at.

I took a scrapbook paper that I like and cut it down to size. I made sure to up out a hole to have it form around the inside of the drawer.

And now it looks like this..

No more clutter!
..Now I have to find room for all of this that I bought tonight.

for your entertainment

i took this picture last year on my drive from ohio back to western michigan.. thanks for keeping it real buddy.

Mother's Day Gift

With Mother's Day coming up this Sunday I figured I would show everyone my Mother's Day gift to my Mom. I don't remember where exactly I seen this done before, but I loved the idea and I thought it'd be perfect for my Mom.

First you're going to have to purchase some Patio Paint - I used Cloud White & Wrought Iron Black and you're also going to need ceramic pots - the number of pots you use depends on how many numbers you have for your home address.
**DO NOT use regular acrylic paint.. only use the outdoor paint.
First paint the entire pot black, I even painted down into the center some incase the flower planter sat down in too far.

While everything is drying, print out your house numbers in a font you like.. I used Edwardian Script.. make sure to spread the numbers out on the page so you can cut them out.

Cut around the number making a square and then cut the number out.. making a stencil.

Tape the stencil on and trace the inside part of the number that you just cut out.

Once you have the number traced on the pot then used the Cloud White paint and fill in the outline of the number.

Lastly, fill with gorgeous plants and give it to your Mom.. or keep it for yourself!
**The nice thing is, if you or the person you give it to moves they can always add and take away pots. You can also paint over them to replace old numbers with new.
